Self-grounding from the engine block mounting.

I thought as much, but wanted to make sure. It's one of the upgrades I've got planned for the wife's GW.

I did the HEI conversion about a year ago. Easiest thing ive done so far. I had myself all worked up about it due to possibly messing up the timing, but its been all good!

I used the Bulltear unit. I got lucky and picked it up before the price increase...got it for $150. Used the Accel custom fit wires.

Yeah...it's not $150 anymore. I have thought about going the used gm route and changing the gear off the bottom.....

what route did you end up taking? i kept the motorcraft dizzy and replaced the duraspark II with a 4 pin hei module. it negates the need for the resistor wire and gives 35-40 kvolts with the ford tfi coil from the f150. the best 40 bucks i've spent on my 83. i dont think she would have been my dd for over a year without that mod. :D
