got a new wagoneer

Postby jeepskater433 » Sun Jul 05, 2009 11:22 pm

so went up to quinlan friday(long tiring drive from katy) and bought a new wagoneer, an intake and carb, wagon is an 89 with 118000 miles, only problem with it, is frame and parts of the body are rusted out, so as good as it looks unfortuanatley it will be used as parts, drivetrain to the blue 87 front clip to red 88, and leftovers will be saved for future projects, unless somebody needs something that im not using

bringing it home on the trailer

after i cleaned it up a bit

and all the mud i pulled out from underneath it, neighbors couldnt believe there was that much mud

well suprisingly and unplanned i got rid of it in 30 days, i never stripped it apart or anything, i was talkin to my friend and he said he wanted it and he'd give me more than what i paid for it, so without thinking twice i sold it to him, he took it to his work(dodge dealership) and started workin on it to make it a DD, last i heard he had to torch the 3 lug nuts and the other 3 jus snapped off when he tried to unbolt them, jus to take the wheel off, and the rear drums look like swiss cheese :eek2:

My Wagoneer. How could you!

Wow, lug nuts breaking off and being torched off........swiss cheese drums? Were the springs missing/broken or.....?

Jacob was a little hard on it when I rode in it for a few minutes down to look at his J10. He mentioned getting it stuck in the field and it being flooded. I wouldn't be surprised to find more "interesting" things going on with it

haha i see you found the tx forum,

yea he said that the rear end was in pretty rough shape, but workin at a dodge dealership he already has a few things on order and hes already fixed a lot things(fuel sending unit, window track, changed all fluids etc.) hes still tryin to figure out why it leans to the left, shocks are good and all, so hes going to try putting different leaf springs on from my old j10, and see if that works, next thing hes going to try to do is try to get a whole new tailgate, everything inside the current one is rotted away,

jacob seems to be a pretty cool guy, but the way i got the wagoneer i could tell he was hard on it, which i didnt have a problem with at the time b/c it was going to be a parts rig,
