Money pit doesn't even describe it!

Postby Lost in Texas » Sun May 24, 2009 9:12 pm

I am about to throw in the towel with FSJ! I have poured the cash in lately (much to my wifes disapproval) and the poor old thing just keeps on dishing out problems. In the past 90 days I have:
Replaced all the front suspension pieces
New carb
New HEI
New Alternator
New Optima
Rhino setup
Replaced fire damaged wiring under hood
New Alum. Rad from BJs
Not to mentions the quarts of oil it consumes on a daily basis

Then as if it didn't even love me one bit, when turning out of church this morning I turned on the blinkers and smoke starts pouring out of the steering column. I almost lost my Sunday-school lesson. Of course this was the first time my wife let me take the fam to church in it (and maybe the last). Does it get any better, or is there no high quality part used by the original manufacturer?

They were quality, back in the day...trouble is, back in the day was a long time ago, even for the newest FSJ!

The parts are worn out, and you'll just have to go thru them till you get all the tired ones. Not much else to be done but that.
